Tophouse Homestead

Experience a part of New Zealand's history at Tophouse Homestead. Whether for a few hours or a few days, Tophouse can offer you a taste of another era. A roaring open log fireplace, stunning views and the recently re-opened "smallest" bar in New Zealand. The friendly staff will take you on a journey through time, reliving the torrid history of this cob hotel built in 1887. Stay in the homestead or one of our self-contained chalets.

Devonshire teas are a specialty, plus plenty of choices of meals throughout the day. Our dinner specialties are wild pig and wild venison as part of our menu. Pre-Booking for dinners is essential. The bar has reopened for you to visit, after a 40 year gap. We shall make sure your stay or meal is a memorable one.
